form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the

the likeness of any fish that is in the water below the earth. And beware, lest you lift up your eyes to
heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and
worship them and serve them, those which Yahweh your God has allotted to all the peoples under the
whole heaven.”
The spirit of Babel was present in Egypt. It was a spirit of pride and rebellion. It was a spirit of
idolatry, a worship of man and false gods. Babel is a turning away from God to a vain worship of that
which is not God. In Egypt, as in Babel, man “exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped
and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever” (Romans 1:25).
When God came down and confused the language of man at Babel, man scattered as if they had been
struck. They spread out across the land. Then Yahweh divided the land itself into continents, placing
great distances of ocean between the peoples of the earth. Yet, everywhere man went, he carried Babel
with him. Those who journeyed east from Mesopotamia carried the spirit of Babel with them. The
following image is of an ancient stepped pyramid in China near the North Korean border.
More than one hundred pyramids have been identified in Xian, China, some of immense size.
