One World Trade Center Viewed from the Hudson River
Not surprisingly, the design of this Babylonian tower is pyramidal. There are alternating pyramids on
the face of the tower, some pointing up, and some pointing down. From street level, the appearance
of a pyramid is very obvious.
One World Trade Center - Street Level View
Of course, Babylon would not be complete without hanging gardens. The very first commercial tenant
of One World Trade Center to occupy space will be China Center. They have leased 200,000 square
th
th
feet on the 64 through the 69 floors. This space is to feature a garden.
The design, called “Folding Garden,” includes green walls bursting with native Asian plants lining
the building’s winding hallways. The walls are meant to make visitors feel as though they’re
meandering through nature, rather than walking through one of the most secure office buildings in
the world.
