Israel? And Yahweh anointed you king over Israel...”

Both Satan and Saul rebelled against the will of God, proving to be insubordinate, stubborn, and self-
               willed.

               Satan
               Isaiah 14:13-14
But you said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
and I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north. I will ascend above the heights
of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

               Saul
               I Samuel 15:22-23
And Samuel said, “Has Yahweh as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the
voice of Yahweh? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. For
rebellion is as the sin of divination, and insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have
rejected the word of Yahweh, He has also rejected you from being king.”

Both Satan and Saul use(d) the promise of material reward to persuade men to serve them.

               Satan
               Luke 4:5-7
And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the
devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me,
and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours."

               Saul
               I Samuel 8:10-15
And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king. And he said,
This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you... And he will take your fields, and your
vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. And he will take
the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.

               I Samuel 22:7
And Saul said to his servants who stood around him, “Hear now, O Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse
also give to all of you fields and vineyards? Will he make you all commanders of thousands and
               commanders of hundreds?”

Do we not see today that Satan gives to his chief human servants the wealth of the planet? Does he
not give them power to steal the material possessions of hard working men and women, and to enrich
themselves at the expense of others? Does not Satan promise his human servants authority as rulers
               of mankind?

Many more parallels could be observed between Satan and Saul, for both were murderers and liars.
Both of them had judgment pronounced on them by God. Both of them were cast down to the earth.
