world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

               Colossians 2:15
When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having
               triumphed over them through Him.

               I Peter 3:21-22
Yahshua Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and
authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

The Heavenly Host by Gustave Dore

What each of these passages reveal is that Yahweh entrusted to the heavenly host ruling authority
over the creation. These angelic beings were heavenly shepherds, angelic sovereigns, tasked with the
charge of carrying out Yahweh’s will among the vast creation. Even as Yahweh placed man in the
Garden of Eden and committed it to his care, so He created the hosts of heaven and entrusted to them
the oversight of the worlds He has made. The Bible tells us that these angelic beings were present
at the creation of the earth. In the following passage Yahweh is speaking to Job.

               Job 38:4-7
"Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who
set its measurements, since you know? Or who stretched the line on it? On what were its bases
sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God
               shouted for joy?”

The phrases “morning stars” and “sons of God” are both expressions that are used in reference to the
angels and heavenly host. We see a variant of these expressions used in reference to Lucifer/Satan.

               Isaiah 14:12
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
